DataAxis and the Caribbean Telecommunications Union Sign MOU to Advance Digital Harmonization Across the Caribbean

Curaçao: October 6th, 2025 - DataAxis (www.dataaxis.co), a leading Caribbean data-infrastructure company based in Curaçao, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU), represented by Secretary General Rodney Taylor.

The agreement, signed by Guershon Nahr, Chief Executive Officer of DataAxis, establishes a framework for cooperation between the private-sector data platform and the CTU, an intergovernmental institution of CARICOM. The partnership aims to advance regional harmonization of spectrum management, data governance, and digital policy frameworks across the Caribbean.

“This MOU underscores our shared vision of a connected, data-driven Caribbean,” said Guershon Nahr, CEO of DataAxis. “Through collaboration with the CTU, we can build a regional data infrastructure that empowers governments, enterprises, and citizens alike.”

“The CTU has long promoted the harmonization of spectrum management and ICT policy through our Caribbean Spectrum Management Task Force,” said Rodney Taylor, Secretary General of the CTU. “Partnering with DataAxis allows us to align policy and technology innovation to strengthen digital resilience across the region.”

Although the MOU is non-binding and non-commercial, it represents a significant milestone in aligning public- and private-sector efforts to develop a secure, interoperable, and future-ready digital ecosystem for the Caribbean.

The collaboration will focus on shared objectives, including:

  • Promoting harmonized spectrum and digital-policy frameworks among CARICOM member states.

  • Supporting the modernization of regional data infrastructure.

  • Encouraging knowledge exchange and capacity building in emerging digital technologies.

Together, DataAxis and the CTU will work toward a Caribbean region that is digitally inclusive, economically competitive, and globally connected.
