Asset Monitoring & DisasterTech
Guershon Nahr - CEO of DataAxis
With TechCrunch heralding a new tech bucket called DisasterTech in their recent article Data was the new oil, until the oil caught fire: The future of technology and disaster response the Caribbean (the hurricane bowling ally of the gulf coast) has an opportunity to proactively build solutioning to help the region grow.
Not only do we have an opportunity to prevent disasters by adopting technology from leaders globally, we also have the opportunity (and obligation) to build solutions locally. DataAxis is committed to working with governments and private organizations in land management, telecommunications, engineering, and health to bring affordable best-of-breed technology to the islands.
In parallel to our disaster recovery pilots in Sint Maarten, we are rolling out our asset monitoring technology to allow for mapping telecommunication towers for ease of maintenance and disaster recovery. Having instant 3D models allow for expeditious rebuilding of infrastructure after a hurricane hits the grid.
We can also provide high resolution mapping of areas that are remote and cannot rely on costly aircraft and satellite mapping. Rocketship drones can efficiently generate high-resolution and 3D mapping, identify hotspot areas that have sustained the most damage and upload the data to recovery teams in real time.
Geospatial information systems (GIS) are critical for planning and response teams - we work with leading technology providers to provide intelligent AI-powered instructions that can be readily understood and used to decision.
Key is our ability to proactively provide the data to government decision-makers before disaster hits. We are ready to provide the future of disaster response across the region.
